Pokémon GO June 2026 Community Day: Frigibax Guide, Bonuses, and Glaive Rush

Pokémon GO's Community Day tradition keeps finding new firsts, and June 2026 delivers a big one: after more than 100 Community Days, this is the first to put a Dragon- and Ice-type Pokémon front and center. Frigibax, the Ice Fin Pokémon originally discovered in the Paldea region, takes the spotlight on Saturday, June 20, giving Trainers a fresh reason to get outside and fill out their Pokédex.

Event Date and Time

Frigibax Community Day runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, June 20, 2026. During this window, Frigibax spawns far more frequently than usual, and Trainers have a shot at encountering a Shiny Frigibax or one with a Special Background.

A New Exclusive Move: Glaive Rush

The headline draw for competitive Trainers is the debut of Glaive Rush, a Dragon-type Charged Attack making its first appearance in Pokémon GO. To unlock it, evolve Arctibax, Frigibax's first evolution, into Baxcalibur during the event or within the following few hours. Trainers who evolve in time will end up with a Baxcalibur that knows the move, giving the Dragon- and Ice-type powerhouse a notable edge in both Trainer Battles and Gyms or Raids, where its base power is higher.

Community Day Bonuses

A full slate of bonuses is active throughout the event, with several extending well past the main three-hour window:

• 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon
• 2x Candy for catching Pokémon
• 2x chance at Candy XL from catches, for Trainers level 31 and up
• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) lasts three hours when activated during the event
• Lure Modules last one hour, and Frigibax has a high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active Lures through 9:00 p.m.
• One extra trade, for a total of two special trades that day, available until 9:00 p.m.
• 50% reduced Stardust cost on trades, also active until 9:00 p.m.

Field Research and Special Research

As with past Community Days, spinning PokéStops during the event window unlocks Frigibax-themed Field Research tasks. Completing them can reward Stardust, Ultra Balls, and additional Frigibax encounters, occasionally including ones with a Special Background.

Trainers who want extra rewards can pick up the Community Day Special Research story for $1.99 USD (or the local equivalent). It includes three Frigibax encounters with Special Backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, bonus XP, and additional Frigibax encounters.

Tips for Trainers

To get the most out of the event, use Pinap Berries while catching Frigibax to stack extra Candy on top of the doubled Candy bonus, which speeds up powering up a strong Baxcalibur. It's also worth checking IVs before evolving, since there's a window of several hours after the event to evolve Arctibax and still pick up Glaive Rush, so there's no need to rush a decision on which catches to keep. Lure Modules are especially valuable this time around, since Frigibax keeps appearing at Lured PokéStops well after the main event hours end.

What's Next for Pokémon GO

Frigibax Community Day kicks off a packed stretch of summer events. On June 27, Skarmory Super Mega Raid Day introduces Mega Skarmory through Super Mega Raids, with boosted Shiny odds and several free Raid Passes. Then, on July 11–12, Trainers worldwide can join Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, the first entirely free global GO Fest, which includes Special Research leading to Zeraora, increased Shiny encounters, and the debut of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
